The Tango Maureen (and Joanne)
While we're on Avenue A, we have a couple more people to drop in on. Remember Maureen and Joanne?
Yeah, they're hard to forget aren't they? Well, last time we visited Maureen and Joanne they had just celebrated their wedding...
Maureen: Wait a minute! Hold on!
Yes, Maureen?
Why are you doing my narration? This is supposed to be my job.
Where's...
Oh, Pookie's on her way. She was right...oh, Pookie, there you are.
Joanne: Maureen, why did you just burst in here and interrupt the mysterious voice?
But Pookie, she was taking our job! It's our blog.
Well, technically....
Oh, shut up mysterious voice. Come on, let us narrate!
Well, I can sense this is my cue to exit...have fun, Maureen. (And good luck, Joanne)
Ok, so what should we talk about first, Pookie?
Let's see...they just saw our wedding...oh, ok. Well, our honeymoon went very well.
We moved into our new home together, and we were, for once, both completely happy.
For once?
Maureen, relax. It doesn't mean anything.
Then why did you say it?
Anyway...
Hey, answer my question!
Even though we were both happy...
Like we are all the time...
Right...anyway, we decided to make ourselves a little bit happier by adopting a child.
That's our daughter Sheila on the day she came to us.
She was so cute, wasn't she?
Yeah, she was. But she didn't stay little for very long, remember?
Wow. Pookie, don't you think she looks just like me?
Maureen, she's adopted. She doesn't look like me or you.
No, she totally looks like me.
Whatever. Moving on...
Sheila's teenage years were rather uneventful.
Yeah, she didn't get mixed up with bad crowds or anything...
Which is even more surprising considering she was raised by you...
Hey!
Hey, now she looks like you, Pookie!
Maureen...never mind. With Shelia all grown up, our house got very quiet.
Excuse me, but life with me is never quiet.
True. Our life...well, it was different. So we decided to adopt another child.
Our little Angel.
She sure was a cutie.
And she really took after me.
For the third and final time, Maureen, our adopted children do not look like either one of us.
Yes, they do. But it just so happens I was not talking about that.
I was talking about how Angel was a little social butterfly, for your information.
Oh. Well, yes, she was.
It was so nice to have Sheila home for Angel's birthday.
Luckily, when Angel hit the teen years she stopped taking after you so much.
What do you mean? She's still a spitting image of...
Hey, mysterious voice? A little help here, please!
What's up, Joanne?
I think it's about time to wrap this up.
What? Pookie, we only got like five pictures! Those other people got...
Well, that's about it for the Johnson/Jefferson household. We'll go and catch up with Sheila now and see how she's been doing.
This is so unfair!
Joanne, I wish you the best of luck on the trip home...
