The Backstory: Part Three

As Mimi and Roger prepared for their wedding, on nearby Shiz Street some more residents were beginning their own sagas in Alphabet City. Elphaba Thropp, outcast in her former home because of her green skin, had just moved in with her younger sister, Nessarose. Her boyfriend, Fiyero Tiggular, lived just down the street. This living arrangement didn't survive for long, though. Soon enough, the lovers had moved in together and were planning their own nuptuals.

Nessa soon started a courtship of her own with a certain Mark Cohen. The two formed a strong bond over being the third wheel in relationships, frequently spending time together while the future Tiggular and Davis couples planned their weddings.

The Tuggular wedding happened first, and Elphaba and Fiyero wasted no time in bringing their first child into the world.

It's a boy! Liir Tiggular becomes the second baby born in Alphabet City. Liir grew up faster than anyone could have imagined, except of course for Mimi who had watched the same happen with Angel.

Before Elphaba and Fiyero knew it, Liir was also in school, and Elphaba began to get that glow again.

It's a girl this time! Named after her aunt, Vanessa Rose Tiggular made her entrance into the world.

Meanwhile, after years of waiting and almost nine months of planning, it was finally time for the Davis-Marquez wedding. The ceremony was simple, held on the front porch of the suburban-urban loft. Mimi was quite pregnant by this time, and Roger was thrilled that he would soon be a father of two.

And later on in the wedding, Mark and Nessa had a surprise of their own.
They were engaged.
Sure enough, just after the honeymoon, Mimi went into labor and gave birth to her second daughter, Krystal Davis. But wait....

That baby doesn't look a thing like Roger. No one in Mimi's family was that dark, either. As Mimi held her new child, she came to the realization that Benny had, in fact, been the father of the baby.
Roger, however, didn't seem to think much of the baby's skin color. He never questioned whether he was the actual father of the baby-Krystal was his second daughter. By her first birthday, Mimi had decided to raise Krystal as Roger's child. Benny would be out of her life.
Krystal's first birthday was a joyus occasion.
Roger gladly became a stay-at-home dad (he never really wanted to work, anyway). He still had no clue about Krystal's true parentage. Only Angel, wise beyond her years, knew what really caused Krystal's dark skin, and she loved her father and mother too much to mention it.
